Jewish people have lived, worked, and prayed in North Alabama for almost 200 years. In fact, Temple B’nai Sholom in Huntsville has the oldest synagogue building in continuous use in the state of Alabama.

The Huntsville Jewish Heritage Center, housed in Temple B’nai Sholom, contains items related to the early history of Huntsville’s Jewish community and its founding families, as well as more current items related to the Holocaust, State of Israel, holiday celebrations, and life cycle events.
