Celebrate Jewish Values, Culture, and Tradition
Reading stories, listening to music, and playing together with your child(ren) are among the most powerful and nurturing moments of their childhood. PJ (pajama) Library can help you transform these moments into Jewish moments, to help your family have conversations about values and traditions that are important to you.
Each month, the PJ Library mails free high-quality, age-appropriate, Jewish books and music to children across the world from birth through age 8.5 years. When they ‘graduate’ from PJ Library, children are eligible for PJ Our Way, and can choose their own books until they turn 13.
Our PJ-by-mail programs are brought to you with generous support from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF). Local programming is made possible through partnerships with philanthropists and local Jewish organizations. PJ Library in the greater Huntsville Area is sponsored by JFHNA with generous support from several individuals including the Goldsmith family, Laura King, and anonymous donors. Connect with Families Just Like Yours
We hired a new PJ Library Program Planner, Cassandra Leibensperger, to create monthly events for the entire community, beginning Summer 2021! Jennifer Nelson, Kathy Stora, and Sarah Willis are also coordinating events for the PJ program.
As programming is scheduled, we will share our local events on this page, the PJ mailing list, our local private PJ facebook group, and the community calendar. Due to the sensitive nature of participants, generally only the PJ email list and private facebook group will have full addresses and other logistical details.

Created by a PJ Library parent, Caribu is an app that integrates children’s books and activities into a video call, making it the easiest way for faraway friends and relatives to play with and read to kids. Eligibility
Our PJ community extends throughout North Alabama and is available to families raising their child(ren) Jewishly, where one or both parents are Jewish. All Jewish families are welcome, regardless of background, knowledge, family make-up, or observance.
PJ books and music are available from birth to age 13. We are also mindful that books at different levels may best suit children with special needs, and age groups may be adjusted to best meet these needs. Please note this on your PJ Library application.
