Meet our new PJ Library Program Planner!

The JFHNA board is so excited to announce that we have hired a new program planner, Cassandra Leibensperger, to create community events and activities centered around the amazing PJ Library & PJ Our Way Jewish children’s book program! Beginning Summer 2021, these events will be open to all families including children age 0-13 that are served by or are interested in participating in PJ Library, regardless of observance, affiliation, or lack thereof. We want you to meet and connect with other Jewish families across North Alabama and get the support you need to thrive here, especially if you are new to the area or not-so-new and want to expand your circle.

Cassandra Leibensperger is originally from British Columbia, Canada, where she earned a Bachelors degree in Social Work with a specialization in child protection. She moved to Washington state where she was immersed in the Jewish community in Seattle, running a Jewish singles program for young adults, active involvement in the University of Washington’s JConnect program, as well as learning Judaism through the local Kollel. She spent 10 years working for Washington State government in various positions and earned  both a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and Project Management Certification. Cassandra relocated to Huntsville in 2018 with her husband, David. They have one child, Tzipporah, with another child on the way. Cassandra taught K-1 with NACHAS in the 2020-21 school year. They are excited to be part of this thriving Jewish Community and to get to know other families in the area to connect them with PJ Library programming.
