In honor of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel, JHFNA is throwing a party! Please join us at this fun social event held in the Canteen at Stovehouse on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025! We’ll have music, cake, special guests, and more! We will also be holding a moment of reflection for fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism as Yom Ha’Zikaron draws to a close.

Yom HaShoah Holocaust Program – April 16th, 2023

Please join us for this Yom HaShoah event commemorating the liberation of the Dora-Mittelbau concentration camp and V-2 missile factory, and the voices of Holocaust survivors and victims. Featured presentations include a video by Dr. John Rison Jones of the 104th infantry and speaker, Dr. Molly Johnson of the UAH History Department with her students. Candlelighting to follow.

Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Israel on April 29th

Join our community partner, the Alabama-Israel Task Force, and the Israel Leadership Institute as they host distinguished leaders from Israel, Alabama, and the Cherokee Tribe of Northeast Alabama for a special gala celebration of the 75th anniversary of the rebirth and founding of Israel as a modern state, and the 80th anniversary of Alabama’s historic resolution calling for the establishment of the Jewish State and homeland.

Led by Scott Godchaux, YBIH aims to bring together Jewish adults in their 20's and 30's and connect them more deeply within and across our Jewish community. This new group will host a number of social and business networking events over the year, starting with our first event at Stovehouse. New Community Lecture Series by Prof. Paul Liptz in April

Professor and Historian Paul Liptz will present a three part series on the state of Israel, which has gone through remarkable transformations over the years. Subjects will include "Israel, the Start-up Nation - History from 1948 to the 1980's", "Israel is No Longer Alone: New Allies in the Middle East - Boycotts, peace treaties, and the recent Abraham Accords" and "The Yemenite Jews: Returning Home - The history, lives, and successes of Yemeni Jewish immigrants to Israel"
