Kick off the summer with JFHNA's new young professional's initiative, "You Belong in Huntsville". Led by Scott Godchaux, YBIH aims to bring together Jewish adults in their 20's and 30's and connect them more deeply within and across our Jewish community. This new group will host a number of social and business networking events over the year, starting with our first event at Stovehouse. If you are a young adult or young-at-heart, and are looking to build lasting bonds, please join us! Newcomers and long-time residents are all welcome!

Meet our new PJ Library Program Planner!

JFHNA is so excited to announce that we have hired a new program planner, Cassandra Leibensperger, to create community events and activities centered around the amazing PJ Library & PJ Our Way Jewish children's book program! Beginning Summer 2021, these events will be open to all families including children age 0-13 that are served by or are interested in participating in PJ Library, regardless of observance, affiliation, or lack thereof. New Community Lecture Series by Prof. Paul Liptz in April

Professor and Historian Paul Liptz will present a three part series on the state of Israel, which has gone through remarkable transformations over the years. Subjects will include "Israel, the Start-up Nation - History from 1948 to the 1980's", "Israel is No Longer Alone: New Allies in the Middle East - Boycotts, peace treaties, and the recent Abraham Accords" and "The Yemenite Jews: Returning Home - The history, lives, and successes of Yemeni Jewish immigrants to Israel"

Alabama Holocaust Day of Remembrance in Observance of Yom HaShoah

On Sunday, April 11th at 2pm, a commemorative program in honor of Holocaust victims and survivors will be livestreamed via the Birmingham Holocaust Education Center. The program will feature the rededication of a newly planted Anne Frank Tree in Birmingham’s Kelly Ingram Park as well as various speakers including Governor Kay Ivey, Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin, and Pastor Chris Edmonds, son of World War II hero Master Sgt. Roddie Edmonds, whose fearless bravery saved the lived of Jewish American soldiers in a prisoner of war camp in Germany.

NEW: Small-Group In-person Film Screenings Available!

Because movies are often more fun with friends, and in support of our our special program featuring Dani Menkin, director of Aulcie and Picture of His Life, JFHNA is arranging a limited number of socially-distanced group viewing events at the Cineplanet 15 in Madison. JFHNA can also help facilitate an outdoor small-group viewing event at your home if you wish to host.
